Moving to a bigger room

Nana moves her food stash
Every night Papa puts my cage on the floor and leaves the door open so I can go out and play and explore as much as I want. When I get tired I just go back to my cage to sleep. Maybe Papa gets tired of moving my cage every night, so I decided to help him. I thought that I could move my things to a dark corner in his room so he wouldn't need to move my cage every night.

I started the move yesterday night. I found a dark, comfy spot in a corner between the curtains and the big suitcase. I took my food in my cheek pouches and moved it to the corner. It took me a couple of trips. After the food I started to move my bed. I put as much tissue paper in my cheek pouches as I could. I tried to put so much that it was coming out from my mouth and I tripped on it when I tried to walk. Papa saw me when I was going to the corner and he discovered my food in the corner. He thought it was funny, but he removed the food in the corner and put me in my cage again. Then he gave me some fresh food.

Nana you sure do like using your pouches. We had a hammy called Charlie (come to think of it you may have known him) who did the same thing, once he moved his nest into the back of our sofa. Go Nana Go!

It sounds as if your Papa has a lot of fun with you.

My son had a great hamster named Hamtaro. He picked her out at the pet store, and so she came home with him. She was one of the most gentle hamsters I've ever seen (I'm 35 and I grew up with hamsters). We learned just how gentle she was when our son brought him out to play one morning, but didn't realize that she was in the middle of giving birth to 10 hamster babies! When we saw that she was giving birth (we didn't know she was pregnant), we put her back in the cage, and she raised all 10 babies wonderfully.

Hamtaro had a cage just like Nana and used to get the door open, then she would get food in her cheek pouches, and she would drop down from the dresser, and in the middle of the night, she would go all the way from our son's room into the closet off of our bathroom, where she would deposit her food and get some much-needed rest. Every time she escaped, that's where she went--in the closet, behind the boxes. She was a great hamster.

Aren't you afraid of getting lost while roaming about?

Nana, you are so creative with your home. I wish you'd come over and help me clean out my house. I don't have food in the corner but I can tell you're much better organized than I am.

MY HAMSTER USE TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT! YOU C, HIS CAGE USED TO BE ON TOP OF THE SHELF WHERE WE KEPT THE SNACKS & CEREALS. AT NIGHT WE WOULD ALWAYS HERE THIS SOUND AND THINK IT WAS JUST HIM RUNNING ON HIS WHEEL. THEN ONE DAY WE WERE WATCHING A MOVIE AND MY MOM WENT TO GO GET A SNACK. THERE WAS MY HAMSTER! HE HAD MADE A NEST INSIDE A CEREAL THAT NONE OF US ATE! I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER IT CAUSE WE NEVER FIGURED OUT HOW HE GOT OUT CAUSE THE DOOR WASNT OPEN. SOME HAMSTERS MAY BE ABLE TO OPEN DOORS BUT I DONT THINK THEY CAN CLOSE THEM!

DID ANY OF YOUR HAMSTERS EVER DO THAT JAVI?
