Nana's surgery

I went to see Nana around an hour ago. When I arrived to Dr. Ozawa's clinic I saw her carrier cage behind the counter. Nana was sleeping on a tissue paper nest. The doctor told me that she's strong (I already knew that!) and that she will probably be fine. When I opened her cage she came out of her nest to check who had dared to wake her up. She sniffed my hand and then climbed into it as if nothing had happened.
I could feel the surgical wire on her belly, but she looked fine. Her eyes were alert and her ears were pointing up. She was sitting on my hands while the doctor told me about the surgery. He told me that the uterus wasn't filled with pus, but one of her ovaries was very swollen and most likely it was the cause of her problem. He took a small plastic bag from the fridge and showed it to me. The healthy one was a small pink button the size of one of Nana's fingers, but the other was dark red and about the size of one of my thumbnails.

The carrier cage is very small, so I brought Nana's cage to the clinic in case she would have to stay there for several days. I put it in a corner with some fresh food on it and then put Nana inside. She inspected it and didn't seem to be worried at all. The doctor said that most likely she can come back home tomorrow. After work I will go and see if I can bring her home.

Oh Javi - this has been such a hard time for you and your babies. I'm so sorry Nana is sick. It seems as if she handled the operation well, though - and Dr. Ozawa sounds hopeful which is a very good thing. I have to say - when I lived in Japan - the vet I had was a wonderful man who would even make house calls if the situation warranted. People have reverence for all living things in Japan. It's part of their marvelous culture. I know Nana is in very good hands. I'll be praying for her and for you as well.
